Variety

To fit a variety of fireplaces, stoves, and braais, our wood is cut into several sizes. Jarrah block wood and mill ends are available at Little Loads. To reduce smoke burn, these have been cleaned and dried.

Able to Cater To All Client Requirements

We offer both large and small quantities. We make every effort to suit the demands of all of our clients. We're the people to call if you need high-quality, ethically sourced jarrah firewood delivered to Perth.

Our Process

We are one of the companies contracted by The FPC Western Australia to source jarrah logs.  After harvesting, the logs are processed into firewood products at our main yard. Here, the logs are cut, split and stored for proper seasoning.

From there, we then sell as bulk loads to houses or put them into 15-kilogram bags for retail. We have extensive packaging facilities and a mechanized packing table to ensure a high-quality, uniform product that meets national standards, such as firewood moisture percentage and packaging laws.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Which type of wood should not be burnt?

Green wood, treated wood, painted wood, and plywood should not be burned, as they can release hazardous fumes when heated. You should also avoid burning softwoods where possible, such as pine and cedar, as they produce more creosote and sparks than hardwoods.

2. What is the difference between wood and firewood?

Wood is any type of lumber that can be cut and used for a variety of purposes, while firewood is wood that has been cut and seasoned specifically for burning in a fireplace or outdoor fire pit. Firewood is typically split into smaller pieces and has a low moisture content in order to burn more efficiently.

3. Which wood burns the longest?

In Australia, hardwoods like ironbark, red gum, blue gum, and jarrah tend to burn the longest. These woods have a high energy content, meaning they can burn for longer periods of time.

4. How should firewood be stored?

Firewood should be stored in a dry area away from direct sunlight. It should be stacked off the ground to allow airflow and covered with a tarp to protect it from the elements. It should also be stacked in a way that allows you to easily access the wood when you need it.

5. What does seasoning firewood mean?

Seasoning firewood means allowing the wood to dry out over a period of time, usually 6-12 months. This process reduces the moisture content of the wood, making it easier to light and burn more efficiently.

6. Is it possible to season firewood quickly?

Yes, it is possible to season firewood quickly, but it is not recommended. While it is possible to split the wood and stack it in the sun to dry it out, the wood won’t burn as efficiently or as cleanly as wood that has been properly seasoned.

7. Is it okay to leave firewood uncovered?

No, it is not recommended to leave firewood uncovered, as it will absorb moisture from the elements, making it harder to light and burn. It is best to cover firewood with a tarp or other waterproof covering when not in use.

8. Does rain ruin firewood?

Yes, rain can ruin firewood, making it harder to light and less efficient to burn. It is important to store firewood in a dry area and cover it with a waterproof tarp when not in use. If your firewood has been left outside and gotten wet, you can dry it out by stacking it in the sun for a few days.
